Segra is searching for a dynamic and visionary Chief People Officer (CPO) to join our executive leadership team and lead our Human Resources efforts, fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This position will work primarily from our Kansas City, Missouri office.

The Chief People Officer will be responsible for setting and executing the strategic vision for Human Resources at Segra.

As a key advisor to the CEO, the CPO will collaborate with senior leadership to align HR practices with business goals, building organizational capacity and promoting an exceptional employee experience.

This role demands deep business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor, driving people strategies to support Segra's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent, aligning with business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and collaboration, ensuring Segra's values are reinforced in every interaction.
  • Serve as a visionary to define strategic HR directions, including standardization of policies, budgeting, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Anticipate and identify business trends to develop innovative HR solutions that address complex competitive challenges and enhance the employee experience.
  • Oversee compliance with federal and state employment laws, ensuring HR policies and practices support company growth and adhere to regulations.
  • Oversee conflict resolution, employee relations, and internal investigations to foster a positive and psychologically safe workplace.
  • Regularly engage with the C-Suite to report on key HR initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, and leading a team of HR professionals, guiding their development and ensuring high performance.
  • Provide executive coaching to enhance leadership capabilities and drive high-functioning teams across the organization.
  • Alignment with Cox Communications (CCI) and its Commercial Services Business Unit (BU) is essential to this role. Core expectations include, but are not limited to, the following :

Coordination and collaboration with CCI's Chief People Officer (CPO) and CPO resources assigned to support the CCI Commercial Services BU

  • Recurring engagement with the Chief Commercial Services Officer
  • Also attached to the above is the required responsibility to protect and model Cox Values

Qualifications :

  • 15+ years of experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing teams, including hiring, developing, and motivating employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR strategies in workforce planning, talent management, and compliance with federal / state regulations (EEOC, ADA, OHSA, etc.).
  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that align with business goals and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization.
  • Executive presence with strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required for collaboration, leadership meetings, and training.
