Job Title : System Design Engineer
Location : On-site preferred in Phoenix, AZ (PHX) , but open to remote candidates in the West Coast time zone or those who can work during West Coast hours.
End Client : Fortune 500 Company
PayRate range : $79hr to $95hr
Job Type : Contract-to-Hire
Duration : 6-month contract period
Job Description :
We are seeking a Design System Engineer with strong Flutter expertise to join our team. This role is essential for driving the development of front-end solutions, bridging the gap between design and development, and ensuring the implementation of standardized UI components across projects.
The Design System Engineer will work closely with designers and developers to ensure a seamless handoff from design specs to functional code, maintaining consistency and quality throughout.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design System Management : Maintain and curate the MDS design system, ensuring standardized UI components are properly implemented.
- Flutter Expertise : Lead front-end development efforts using Flutter to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Collaboration with Designers : Work with design teams using Figma to create, critique, and modify design components, ensuring alignment with development standards.
- Front-End Development : Play a hands-on role in front-end development, focusing on ensuring Flutter implementations are up to standard and meeting design specifications.
- Quality Assurance : Implement automated testing using frameworks like Jest and Mocha to ensure the reliability and quality of the design system.
- Version Control : Utilize Git to manage changes and updates to the design system, ensuring seamless collaboration between teams.
Required Skills :
- Front-End Development : Proficient in Flutter , HTML , CSS , and JavaScript .
- Frameworks and Libraries : Strong experience with Dart / Flutter .
- Design Tools : Competency with Figma for collaboration with design teams.
- Version Control : Proficiency in Git for managing design system updates.
- Automated Testing : Experience with Jest , Mocha , or similar testing frameworks to ensure design system quality.
Soft Skills :
- Communication : Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both designers and developers.
- Attention to Detail : Strong focus on ensuring visual and functional consistency across UI components.
- Problem-Solving : Ability to swiftly troubleshoot issues and resolve inconsistencies between design and development.
- Collaboration : Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between design and development teams.
- Time Management : Strong organizational skills, able to juggle design, development, and stakeholder meetings efficiently.
