Senior Software Engineer, Async Platforms

The Foundations Backend teams within the Foundations Platform work with Squarespace's product, platform, and infrastructure teams.

We provide frameworks to help create the Java microservices that power Squarespace and platform offerings for event streaming, job orchestration, and batch processing on-premises and in the cloud.

As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will build new platform features and support internal customers as Squarespace continues to scale.

You will report to the manager of the Foundations Backend org in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity with three days in the office.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will :

• Work hands-on with technologies like Java, Spring, Kafka, MongoDB, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Build frameworks and tools for Java-based microservices across all of Squarespace.
• Collaborate and integrate with upstream and downstream teams.
• Contribute to design discussions and collaborate with engineering teams across the company to enhance platform solutions.
• Be a technical leader and mentor within the team.
• Work with engineering teams across the company to ensure the successful adoption of best practices.
• Participate in the team production on-call rotation.

Desired Experience :

• 6+ years of experience developing backend systems with Java and Spring.
• 2+ years of experience deploying and maintaining distributed applications in Kubernetes-based environments.

Cash Compensation Range : $128,500 $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
