We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Project Manager who is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team in Springfield, MA .

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of highway and roadway projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with specialized expertise in highway and roadway design and construction management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and execution of transportation projects, including roadways, highways, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop project proposals, budgets, and schedules, and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project team members, including engineers, designers, and support staff, to achieve project goals and deliverables.
  • Coordinate primarily with MassDOT, municipal governments, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify issues and risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and deliverables to clients, stakeholders, and project sponsors.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and professional development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Massachusetts Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to gain reciprocity within 1 year)
  • At least 12 years of experience in highway engineering and roadway design; minimum of 2 years of experience in project management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion, including experience with project planning, design, and construction phases
  • Strong technical expertise in transportation engineering principles, standards, and practices, including proficiency with relevant software tools and design standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience working with MassDOT design and construction requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering innovative and cost-effective solution
