We are seeking an emergency veterinarian who is committed to the mission of providing the most advanced veterinary care for their patients while exemplifying integrity, compassion and responsibility.
As an AAHA accredited referral and emergency practice, the hospital resides in an area that offers many large city amenities, but in a small town atmosphere.
Situated in northeast Pennsylvania, the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton area is served by a convenient international airport, and Philadelphia and New York City are both only two hours away by car.
The Pocono Mountains provide the backdrop for skiing and limitless outdoor activities. The area is home to the Pittsburgh Penguins’ farm team and the NY Yankees’ minor league team.
The educational needs of the area are met by a dozen colleges and universities including a medical school. Opportunities for shopping, fine dining and participation in cultural activities abound.
Internal medicine, surgery, and cardiology comprise their unique services. Their emergency service consists of a great team of emergency associates who work together cohesively to provide 24 hour service with a very high standard of care.
They also offer physical rehabilitation and acupuncture.Their diagnostic lab is fully stocked with 3 Idexx catalyst machines, Procyte CBC machine, Coagulation testing (PT / PTT), Urinalysis and Snap test reader.
Additionally, they are equipped with an IDEXX SediVue Dx. In their radiology suite, they have digital radiographs and a Philips HDX11 ultrasound machine that provides optimal imaging quality and has color flow and tissue Doppler capabilities.
They have digital endoscopy and in their OR they have laparoscopic equipment as well. Most recently, they added a CT scanner with fluoroscopy to provide 3D images as another diagnostic option.
