Reporting to the Payroll Manager, as the Sr. Payroll Specialist you will work onsite in Andover, MA to manage the administration of the daily payroll operations and accuracy of one weekly and 9 bi-weekly multi-state payrolls working in a team environment.
You'll be a contact for employees and managers to answer urgent payroll related questions and offer solutions promptly as a member of the payroll team.
You Will :
Take ownership for the accurate processing and auditing of all payroll data for hourly and exempt employees on both weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles using UKG Pro before finalizing payroll.
This is to include hours worked, tax information, direct deposit information, department allocations, pay adjustments, new hires, and terminations.
Administer wage garnishments, and make certain deductions are being taken observing jurisdictional requirements.
Ensure accurate reporting and tax withholding on employee wages, benefits.
Process and maintain expense payment due, positive pay and 401K interfaces between external providers and UltiPro.
Prepare detailed journal entries for posting to General Ledger.
Respond to employment verification and unemployment insurance claim inquiries.
Manage per pay period audits and assists with quarter-end and year-end audits, adjustments, and reporting.
Maintain SOX compliance for all payroll related tasks.
Follow up with employee and outside party requests promptly and address errors and concerns.
You Have :
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience processing multi-state payrolls with varying degrees of complexity and multiple payroll frequencies.
Analytical ability to support regulatory compliance, policy support and systems maintenance and development activities.
Ability to provide confidential information to employees, HR Business Partners and other internal / external audit team
Strong background in excel including vlookup and pivot tables
Extensive knowledge of ERP, HRIS and Time & Attendance systems. Workday, UKG Pro and UTA preferred.
