POSITION SUMMARY
Drive a non-CLD straight truck to transport and deliver goods or materials in packaged form. Depending on customer needs, may be required to manually unload truck.
May require use of manual or electric walk-behind pallet jack. Also, receive, stock, count, pick, load product entering and leaving warehouse to ensure overall satisfaction of business and customer needs.
Operate moving machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrappers, etc. in a warehouse work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform pre-trip, in-route and post-trip inspections. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered, and collect payment for services when required.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, as directed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, load locks, chain, binders, and / or covers. Read invoices to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles or other property. Read and interpret maps in order to determine vehicle routes.
- Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
- Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes, in order to document weights and to comply with state regulations.
- Operate equipment such as truck cab computers and telephones to exchange necessary information with supervisors or branch personnel.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, and radiator fluid, or performing minor repairs.
- Collaborate with other BWI Employees in regards to Employee training and information exchange to ensure customer satisfaction and teamwork.
- Complete Driver trip report as well as trip returns report.
- Maintain tractor / truck interior cab cleanliness.
- Quickly, accurately and efficiently build and pull customer shipment orders. Neatly palletize product. Secure product to pallet by means of electric film wrap machine or manual use of hand film.
- Efficiently and safely operate machinery, such as forklift and / or pallet jack, electric and / or manual.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and encourage team members to do the same.
- Efficiently and accurately utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and perform job to ensure accurate inventory of stored product.
- Maintain a clean work area during shift and heavily clean at end of shift.

Certificates & Licenses :
- In-house Forklift and Haz-Mat certification (HM 126-F)
- Preferred but not required - Commercial Drivers License (CDL) B, with Haz-Mat Endorsement
- Requirements : Clean MVR with less than 3 moving violations over three-year period; Pass DOT physical & DOT drug screen;
No DWI / DUI convictions.
