Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Neurology Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator III.
This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of outreach, recruitment, and retention for research studies within the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center.
This position will supervise a team of recruitment specialists, develop initiatives such as the training of community health advisors, and establish community and participant advisory boards.
Job duties also include organizing participant and community partner appreciation events in conjunction with the recruitment specialists.
The individual will also be asked to attend some community events with the recruitment specialists to provide feedback on their performance and to organize engagement activities that will aid with participant retention.
The mission of the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center is to overcome Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by conducting, fostering, and enabling research at UAB and through national collaborations, by providing the highest level of care to patients and families, and by educating both professionals and the public about aging, dementia, and brain health.
Our research is aimed at reducing Deep South disparities in Alzheimer's disease.
General Responsibilities
- To manage all aspects of assigned clinical studies including education.
- To develop protocol-specific systems and documents.
- To act as a consultant within area of clinical expertise.
- To identify various stakeholders to ensure adequate design, implementation, and testing of study aims.
- To assess and determine solutions for operational shortcomings for data procurement in protocol design.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of outreach, recruitment, and retention for research studies within the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center and supervising a team of recruitment specialists.
- Organize and attend UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center sponsored events and initiatives : Participant appreciation events, community partner appreciation events, community advisory board, participant advisory board, and training community health advisors.
- Attend community events with recruitment specialists.
- Maintain relationships with community partners of the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center and foster new ones.
- Coordinate meetings of research scientists, staff, and students within the Outreach, Diversity, and Inclusion Core of the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range : $60,835 - $98,855
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification preferred.
Preferences
The ideal candidate will have previous research experience with exceptional customer service skills.
