CHARGE NURSE II-Acute Care

Summary

The Levindale Brain Health Unit is currently looking for a charge nurse with a passion for patient care and process improvement.

The Brain Health Unit at Levindale Hospital is composed of two 40-bed units. Staff members in the Brain Heath Unit are good communicators and can set boundaries, hold confidence, and establish and maintain trust.

Patients in the Brain Health Unit are admitted with medical and psychological diagnoses. The length of their stay is between 20-25 days, which provides an opportunity for clinical staff to analyze a patient’s behavior and cultivate a relationship that may help a patient see him- or herself in a better way.

During their stay, patients will receive help with medication management and rehabilitation services if needed. Staff members will also assist in engaging patients in group activities and one-on-one exercises.

JOB SUMMARY :

Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and functions as advisor, resource and leader for other members of the patient care team.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college)
  • Minimum of 1 year in charge / lead / nurse role can be full time or acting charge / lead nurse.
  • Knowledge of a specialized field. 2+ years of experience in the area of clinical expertise (Med / Surg)
  • Nursing Certification of specialty area within 3-5 years of hire.
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.

Levindale Patient Care Services offers a Nursing Career Ladder that allows opportunities for advancement and development of Registered Nurses.

The Clinical Career ladder level for new hires will be determined through defined ladder criteria during the hiring process.
