Course Developer MS in Counseling

Albizu University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Course Developer to create course content for the Online MS in Counseling academic program for the Spring 2025 term.
This is a part-time position and compensation is by-the-course.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing instructional materials and learning resources, selecting relevant knowledge sources, organizing, creating, and managing content, and designing assessment and evaluation tasks.
Responsibilities :
- Develop online courses for the MS in Counseling program, including course syllabi, supplemental materials, lectures, and exams.
- Collaborate with the course developer and faculty members to gather content, develop learning objectives, and apply CACREP assessment criteria.
- Design engaging and interactive course content using multimedia elements, case studies, and real-world examples.
- Ensure courses comply with industry standards, CACREP accreditation requirements, and accessibility guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive research on current trends, advancements, and best practices in counseling.
- Integrate learning technologies and instructional design principles to enhance the online learning experience.
- Collaborate with multimedia specialists to create high-quality instructional materials, including videos, presentations, and simulations.
- Review and update course content regularly to reflect changes in the field and ensure ongoing relevance.
- Provide support and guidance to instructors delivering the online courses.
Requirements :
- Doctoral degree (PhD, etc.) in Counselor Education & Supervision preferred, or master’s degree in Counseling or a closely-related profession
- Three years experience in the subject matter (counseling) and online course development
- Full professional proficiency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong research skills and the ability to stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in counseling.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with CACREP accreditation standards and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
