Summary :
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform variousservices and related activities in support of patient careincluding accurate data entry for patient registration andinsurance verification.
The Certified Medical Assistantdemonstrates the ability to use good judgment and communicateseffectively with all patients;
families; licensed personnel;insurance companies and third-party payers. Demonstrates aprofessional and caring manner.
Responsibilities :
- Meets expectations of the applicableOneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, orLeader of Leaders.
- Assisting thephysicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in givingsuperior medical care.
- Accurate Data Entry ofcharges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updatingpatient accounts.
- Insurance Verification andrecording of Statistics.
- Assist withscheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keepingproviders informed of changes, and informing patients of theirbenefits.
- Other duties asassigned.
Requirements : Education / Skills
Education / Skills
High School Diploma or EquivalentPreferred.
Experience
1 year of medical office experiencepreferred.
Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certificationin the state of employment is required.
- BLSfrom the American Heart Association (AHA) isrequired.
