About Our Job
The Coordinated Case Management Intern will work in close coordination with the Program Coordinator of Intervention Services and the Outreach Team to serve gang-involved clients and their families as they navigate various systems to access resources and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist and contribute in the management of client’s coordinated case plans
Assist with the coordination of the multidisciplinary team meetings
Assist in maintaining quality control of files.
Participate in community events
Assist gang outreach team with work in the community
Performs other duties as assigned.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Intern will gain case management experience by interacting with and assisting the Intervention Program.
Intern will acquire detailed knowledge of the Denver Gang Violence Reduction Model.
Intern will have the opportunity to shadow gang outreach
Build professional relationships and networks with outside community resources and service providers.
TIME COMMITMENT
For the sake of stability and continuity, GRID asks for a minimum commitment of one semester, 4 months, with at least 20 hours per week.
TRAINING
In-depth training will be provided for interns to understand programming and the various needs of clients accessing services.
A high-level of confidentiality is required when working with GRID clients.
About You
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in an internship program through a local university.
Comfortable working with diverse populations and non-English speakers.
Previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred, but not required.
Experience working in social work / social services preferred, but not required.
Possess personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
Minimum commitment of 3 months and at least 24 hours per week. 35 hours per week preferred. Desired start date : Fall 2024 or Winter / Spring 2025.
Reliable access to a personal vehicle, valid US driver’s license, and active insurance policy required.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Organized with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
An interest in international and refugee issues.
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member in a multi-cultural setting.
Current undergraduate or less than 12 months out of school*.
