Job Description : We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in the Chattanooga area. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing industrial heating equipment based on customer specifications.
This role involves creating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and collaborating with drafters, manufacturing groups, and sales personnel.
The Mechanical Project Engineer will oversee projects from initial intake through to production, managing scope, schedule, cost, and all related documentation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design industrial heating equipment according to customer specifications.
- Create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Collaborate with drafters, manufacturing teams, and sales personnel.
- Manage projects from intake to production, ensuring efficient handling of scope, schedule, cost, and documentation.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Engineering degree.
- Proficiency in 3D design software (Solidworks, CAD).
- Experience in designing heaters, expansion tanks, fuel trains, pump and piping skids, burners, and valves.
- Stress analysis experience.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, pressure, and temperature calculations.
- Familiarity with ASME code.
- Experience in creating P&ID.
