Department Details

Looking for a motivated candidate to work in the sleep lab doing diagnostic testing for adult and pediatric populations. Shifts will be 3 nights per week, approximately 13 hour.

The lab is closed on most holidays, Fridays and Saturdays. The off-campus lab is AASM accredited and provides full service testing for all sleep disorders.

Polysomnographic Technologists are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing care to our patients. We’re seeking a compassionate, patient, and problem-solving Polysomnographic Technologist to join our talent team in this highly impactful role.

What you will do :

• Performing either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations.
• Understanding the testing equipment, including it’s structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient and basic maintenance / troubleshooting procedures.
• Monitor and document appropriately in medical record per facility guidelines.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation.
• Possess a knowledge and understanding of the disease and pathological conditions encountered.
• Educating patients with prescribed therapies and sleep testing and following up as needed.
• Acquire the ability to work with all age groups and those with growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program for Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or Respiratory Therapy, or other medical specialty preferred.

Possess basic knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, with the skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care.

Registry eligible with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

Will consider eligibility to register with the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).

Registry eligible as a Respiratory Therapist (RT), or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) within two years of the date of hire into position.

Working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).

Obtain and maintain mandatory continuing education units (CEU) each year to maintain licensure.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of employment.
