Senior Design Assistant

Who We Are :

We are a Los Angeles-based Fashion Company specializing in Women's, Juniors, and girls' apparel. We service multi-channels of distribution in retail partnerships with department stores and specialty chains throughout the country.

Job Summary and Expectations :

The role would be to assist the Senior Designer in all aspects of creating a line for the monthly market.

The ideal candidate must be hardworking, detail-oriented, organized, a team player, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties :

  • Help Designers to look for specific fabrics (patterns & samples)
  • Ensure execution of all samples for monthly market and sales meetings
  • Preparing samples to be sent out via FedEx / paramount
  • Responsible for maintaining line sheets, fabric, sample racks, and cutting ticket books
  • Photo / tagging the line and filing market design packs
  • Printing pattern cards and putting styles up to cut
  • Request pattern card updates from patternmakers
  • Updating online platforms such as Concept Board, Centric, and Miro
  • Send out dyes, write POs to vendors, check on orders / send-outs to vendors
  • Request and prints on fabrications using the sublimation machine
  • Working with sales reps to service all store accounts / address special projects
  • Send out fabrics to be scanned for 3D and take fabric drape images
  • Request CADs, prints, and sketches from CAD / Textile departments
  • Compiling pre-costing information to create pre-production tech packs
  • Attend design / vendor day meetings when needed
  • All other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must have 3-4 years of experience in the garment industry
  • Degree in Fashion Design
  • Keen sense of color, style, and trend
  • Garment construction and fabric knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient in sketching
  • Computer experience with knowledge of Photoshop, CAD, Illustrator, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detailed-oriented, able to multitask and re-prioritize duties as needed
  • Saturday work at least once a month
  • Able to work as part of a team to accomplish all duties

Education :

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience :

  • Garment construction : 3-4years (Preferred)
  • Fashion design : 3-4 years (Preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator : 3-4 years (Preferred)
