Weekly Pay Range - $635 To $706 Job Title : Health Information Technician Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : 52 weeks Shift : Day 7 : 30 AM-3 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum experience not specified License : Not specified Certifications : Not specified Must-Have : Knowledge of health information technology- Understanding of regulations governing medical record keeping- Familiarity with confidentiality requirements of patient information- Proficiency in medical terminology- Skill in using a typewriter and / or word processor and calculator Job Description : Compile health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness;
organize medical reports for filing; ensure all reports and signatures are present in charts.- Prepare health information forms, including setting up charts for new admissions and filling out necessary forms.
- Compile and type statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, or length of stay.
- File reports into health information records and maintain logs; retrieve health information records as needed.- Provide information from health information records, ensuring the appropriateness of the request.
- Coordinate with other departments concerning health information records procedures.- Develop the ability to deal with problems involving few variables within a familiar context.
- Write routine business letters, evaluations, or records following standard procedures; proofread medical reports and recognize errors.
- Identify missing information in medical records and gather, collate, and classify data effectively.
