Public Involvement Intern

What Your Day Will Look Like :

As a public involvement coordinator, You ll manage the public involvement efforts for large transportation infrastructure projects.

You ll attend meetings with stakeholders and provide email updates, hotline management, website updates, and social media posts.

You ll facilitate public events such as open houses, workshops, public hearings, neighborhood meetings, and ribbon cuttings.

The public involvement coordinator reports to the public involvement manager.

What You'll Do :

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing client partners.
  • Create and maintain detailed logs and stakeholder databases.
  • Develop marketing materials for plans, flyers, and postcards.
  • Attend the project meetings, take notes, and follow-up on action items.

What You'll Need :

  • Bachelor of Science in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or Advertising.
  • Minimum one year of public involvement experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign software.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines.

May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.

This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
