Position Summary
The Network Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, support and enhancement to the Company network infrastructure.
Areas of responsibility include, network, security, wireless, Unified Communications, and Data Center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and support all enterprise network systems globally
- Adhere to all Service Level Agreements established with the user community
- Create reports and establish operational guidelines for the Global Network and Unified Communications environments
- Implement business continuity practices for network management
- Support data center environment by providing support to systems engineers
- Monitor network performance, diagnose network issues, and perform emergency and scheduled maintenance
- Provide support to Operations relating to network problems
- Maintain network configurations to provide performance monitoring / tuning of all global systems
- Keep the Information Systems staff and customers informed of the status and resolution of issues; update the Service Desk software with resolutions and status
- Participate in strategic initiatives by performing technical project activities
- Evaluate network system upgrades and management software patches
- Responsible for securing network resources including password maintenance, firewall configurations, pen testing, IP allocations, and procedures
- Create and maintain automated systems and procedures for network operations
- Assist the Service Desk staff in streamlining daily operations
- Coordinate with user community scheduling times and user procedures necessary for network upgrades and / or maintenance including enterprise impacting upgrades, new equipment deployments, and sun setting legacy hardware / software
- Work to minimize downtime impact on users through accurate planning of scheduled downtimes and quick problem resolution for unscheduled downtimes
- Follow the established standards for writing and documenting projects and network configurations
- Contribute to the development of new standards and / or the modification of existing standards
- Participate in 24 / 7 department on-call program
- Work on special assignments as they arise
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge in supporting global sites utilizing MPLS, Internet, Software Defined WAN technologies
- Knowledge of network security technologies (Firewalls, IPS, SIEM)
- Knowledge of wireless network technologies
- Basic Knowledge of Unified Communications (Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connection, SIP Trunks, H.323)
- Knowledge of standardized processes, and operational automation
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent collaboration skills and able to work in a team environment
- Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, related IT field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineer experience
- Network-related certification preferred (CCNP, PCNSE, etc...)
- Experience in network technologies and products from Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki
- Experience in Cisco Unified Communications, LAN / WAN acceleration, and load balancers
- Experience with Wifi technologies (Cisco Meraki, Cisco Aironet, Aruba)
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Travel Requirements
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time

- This is largely a sedentary role.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
