Role :
This position will work closely with Member Service Officers and members to ensure that loans are funded in a timely and efficient manner.
Consumer Loan Specialists will gather and prepare all documents to fund Direct and Indirect Consumer loans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Coordinate with the Loan Advisors, Branch teams and Auto Dealers to ensure all necessary documentation is collected and correctly stored for each loan.
Create all required loan agreement documents and send to members via Docu-Sign. Ensure that all underwriting stipulations are met.
Obtain and verify proof of income if necessary or not handled by underwriting, and update in system. Loan Advisors and Branch staff are primarily responsible for working directly with the members to obtain all documentation necessary to fund the loan.
Loan Processors may also need to communicate with members to collect any remaining documentation necessary to expedite the member’s loan closing.
Confirm front line staff has obtained correct payoff information (10-day payoff and per diem) and ensure correct amounts are captured in the system.
Confirm all loan terms are correct prior to loan documents being generated. Ensure all loan stipulations are obtained and met prior to funding the loan.
Pay sight drafts, process / prepare payoffs, and release liens as needed.
Assist the front-line staff when necessary to communicate with members to obtain any final missing documentation to expedite the member’s loan closing.
Ensure that all loan documents are properly scanned to OnBase.
Mentor and assist with training new loan operations employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements :
Ensure funding time is completed in a timely manner with minimal errors.
Participate in established department WIG expectations, including lead measures and individual commitments. Attend and engage in weekly meetings, making adjustments as required to meet minimum expectations.
Promote a positive culture by embracing and adapting to new technology and changes in the workplace.
Deliver high levels of service to create an exceptional experience for the member.
Assist with maintaining records of credit union documents.
To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Controls (OFAC) and all credit union policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills :
Experience
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and / or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills
Must have good organizational and communication skills. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is required.
