Carolina's Mexican Food , a family tradition since 1967 & home of the BEST tortillas in the Phoenix area, is currently searching for reliable, dedicated, and self-accountable individuals to fill COOK roles in our valley-wide locations.

In this role, you will be cooking and preparing a variety of food products including meats, poultry, sauces, and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List.

Full-time and part-time positions are available! All positions have the opportunity for advancement and certification increases (the more you learn at Carolina's, the more you earn!)

General Responsibilities :

  • Complete opening checklists.
  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
  • Prepares a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in ovens, stock pot burners, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
  • Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of food prepared.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, ovens, fryers, stock pot burners, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.
  • Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages.
  • Uses our Standard Recipe Book for preparing all products. Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager on duty.
  • Follow handwash policy.

General Requirements :

  • Previous Cook experience in a restaurant environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Basic ability to read and write.
  • Must be able to understand basic math for recipe preparation.

  • Listas de verificación de apertura completas.

  • Porciones de productos alimenticios antes de cocinarlos de acuerdo con los tamaños estándar de las porciones y las especificaciones de las recetas.
  • Maneja, almacena y rota todos los productos correctamente.
  • Asume el 100% de responsabilidad por la calidad de los alimentos preparados.
  • Mantiene un área de estación de trabajo limpia e higiénica que incluye mesas, estantes, paredes, hornos, freidoras, quemadores de ollas, cocinas planas y equipos de refrigeración.
  • Asiste a todas las reuniones de empleados programadas y aporta sugerencias para mejorar.
