This is a Hotel Front Desk Manager position with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professionals that is looking to increase our capability.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOTEL FRONT DESK MANAGER
The Front Desk Manager ensures the accommodations meet guest expectations, greet hotel guests, hire, train and schedule front office staff while providing daily supervision, direction and leadership to the front office personnel and Night Audit.
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to : working closely with housekeeping, engineering, sales / marketing department and engineering.
Role Accountabilities & Expectations :
- Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Comply with all safety standards to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints and / or accidents arising in person or through reservations, letters and / or phone calls, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner.
Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Motivate, coach and counsel all Front Office personnel according to hotel standards.
- Develop team members and ensure training of Front Office personnel.
- Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, team members and other departments.
- Monitor oversold dates to ensure the maximization of room's revenue.
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily. Analyze rate variance, monitor credit report and maintain close observation of daily house count.
Monitor selling status of house daily (i.e., flash report, allowances, etc.).
- Monitor and ensure compliance with SOP's in Rooms and Loss Prevention.
- Monitor labor expenses through schedule approval process and ensure budgeted productivity.
- Work closely with Rooms Division including Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure efficient and effective operations and to continuously improve service.
- All other duties as assigned / required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FRONT DESK MANAGER
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- At least four (4) years of progressive front desk operations experience and two (2) years in a managerial role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Infor PMS experience a plus, but not required.
- Excellent reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
- Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
- Able to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Requires flexibility with scheduling on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
- Must be able to spend 90% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
- Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 15 pounds and exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
