About Us :
The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs.
Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.
Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 33 , Step 1 of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule ($30.
55 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($32.04) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
What You'll Do :
- Acts as the scientific lead and program evaluator for the Comprehensive Suicide Prevention (CSP) Program.
- Independently designs and conducts research and analysis and acts as agency's expert in research and policy issues in program evaluation.
- Develops evaluation plans and logic models for programs and projects undertaken by the CSP Program.
- Oversees and conducts assigned program evaluation activities, including the development of effective data collection, process evaluation, quality implementation, outcome monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Monitors the evaluation plans for grants assigned to the position.
- Analyzes program data to determine the impact of program activities on human behavior.
- Analyzes outcome data for health disparities by race, gender identity, orientation, and other markers of risk or vulnerability.
- Collaborates with the CSP Program to analyze population level data and proposes data-driven interventions.
- Serves as the staff liaison / co-chair for the Ohio Injury Prevention Partnership, Youth Suicide subcommittee, lead on other priority populations.
- Leads analytical studies of the CSP Program regarding agency-specific issues or services.
- Uses available databases and creates specialized databases.
- Coordinates the administration and reporting of assigned program evaluation measures, including sexually transmitted infection (STI) treatment data, comprehensive assessments, and quantitative and qualitative data.
- Monitors the progress of assigned program objectives toward short- and long-term goals and completes reports as requested.
- Assists Program Managers with progress reports and other documentation as directed by grant outcomes and deliverables.
- Coordinates the administration and reporting of assigned program evaluation measures, comprehensive assessments, and quantitative and qualitative data.

Qualifications
- Completion of graduate core coursework in social science or public administration with at least 6 courses in advanced statistics & statistical analysis & research theory, design & methodology;
- 18 mos. exp. in research & / or social science policy analysis using advanced statistics & statistical analysis & research theory, design & methodology;
- 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in use of computer hardware, software used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & work processing.
- 6 mos. exp. as Social Sciences Research Analyst, 65261.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
