JobSummary :
Provides direct nursing carein settings where patients require complex assessments andintervention, in accordance with established policies, proceduresand protocols of the healthcare organization.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtains comprehensive datapertinent to the patient from the patient, family other healthcareproviders to develop a holistic picture of the patient's needs orcondition.
- Analyzes and synthesizes data fromthe assessment in determining diagnosis or conditions relevant tocare.
- Identifies optimal outcomes for thepatient in collaboration with the patient, family andinterprofessional team.
- Develops a plan thatprescribes strategies and alternatives to attain outcomes, usingclinical judgement in collaboration with patient, family andinterprofessional care team.
- Implements theplan, employing strategies to promote and maintain a safeenvironment, coordinates implementation with patient, family andinterprofessional team.
- Evaluates processes andprogress toward attainment of goals andoutcomes.
- Contributes to the quality andeffectiveness of nursing practice, evaluates their own practice,and maintains current knowledge andcompetence.
- Communicates effectively in allareas of practice, collaborates with patient, family andinterprofessional team.
- Uses clinical inquiryand integrates best evidence intopractice.
- Applies the existing body ofevidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care tocritical care nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care isdelivered based on patient's age-specific needs and clinical needsas described in the department's Scope ofService.
- Works in a constant state of alertnessand safe manner.
- Performs other duties asassigned.
EDUCATION
Graduate of accredited school ofnursing or education equivalency forlicensing
