Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : The Clinical Supervisor, in collaborationwith and under the direction of the Nursing DepartmentDirector / Manager, is accountable for ongoing shift leadership andoperations of a clinical department and for nursing care safety andquality.
The Clinical Supervisor uses sound human resourceand budget principles to guide the daily provision of nursingservices to patients and families.
The Clinical Supervisorsupports comprehensive patient and family services througheffective participation with the interdisciplinary team.
TheClinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising nursingdepartment associates and providing patient care when needed.
Coaches and guides employees under his / her supervision.Demonstrates Professionalism and Excellence by performing as rolemodel for clinical and serviceexcellence.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : Graduate of anaccredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred. National specialtycertification preferred.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : Current RN license in the State of New Mexico. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification orobtain within 6 months.
Current PALS / NRP if applicable to area.Current TNCC if applicable to area or obtain within 6 months. Current CPI or equivalent must be obtained within six months forBehavioral Health and Emergency Department.
BLS, ACLS andPALS must be issued through American Heart Association.
SKILLS : Must be able todemonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to providecare / service appropriate to the age of the patients served on theassigned unit / department.
EXPERIENCE : 3 years relevantexperience preferred but not required.

Works irregularhours. Multiple simultaneous activities of patientcare. Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays. Exposure to varying unpredictable situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Mustbe able to handle emergency situations, prolonged, extensive orconsiderable standing. Has knowledge of and uses good bodymechanics.
Occasionally positions, pushes and / or transferspatients or equipment. Hearing and visual acuity withinnormal limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordinationrequired.
