About this role :

RingCentral’s Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the backend infrastructure on which we deliver our cloud-based unified communications services to customers all over the world.

RingCentral Cloud Operations is engineered for 99.999% uptime with domestic and international geo-redundant data centers.

As a RingCentral Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting the x86 virtualization environment including the underlying servers and storage systems at RingCentral, with a focus on developing Ansible-based automation tools.

This role can be 100% remote in the USA, or a hybrid employee based at one of our main offices in Belmont CA, Denver CO or Dallas TX.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks for deployment and ongoing management of physical servers, storage systems, vm’s, and other infrastructure
  • Create and manage tools for automation; including REST API integration script development
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated deployment systems

Required Qualifications :

  • Advanced level of proficiency with VMware (6.x - 8) and vSphere in a large environment
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux)
  • Solid configuration management & automation experience using Ansible
  • Competent in scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Experience with Git or other SCM systems
  • 7-10+ years in IT, 4+ specifically related to x86 virtualization
  • Results oriented and excellent debugging skills
  • To comply with U.S. federal government requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with deploying and maintaining a FedRAMP compliant environment
  • Familiarity with vRealize Suite (Orchestrator, Operations Manager, Automation)
  • Familiarity with Puppet & Foreman
  • Experience with Netapp and EMC storage systems
  • Experience integrating with public cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure)
  • Experience in implementing and managing bare metal lifecycle management systems
