About this role :
RingCentral’s Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the backend infrastructure on which we deliver our cloud-based unified communications services to customers all over the world.
RingCentral Cloud Operations is engineered for 99.999% uptime with domestic and international geo-redundant data centers.
As a RingCentral Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting the x86 virtualization environment including the underlying servers and storage systems at RingCentral, with a focus on developing Ansible-based automation tools.
This role can be 100% remote in the USA, or a hybrid employee based at one of our main offices in Belmont CA, Denver CO or Dallas TX.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks for deployment and ongoing management of physical servers, storage systems, vm’s, and other infrastructure
- Create and manage tools for automation; including REST API integration script development
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated deployment systems
Required Qualifications :
- Advanced level of proficiency with VMware (6.x - 8) and vSphere in a large environment
- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux)
- Solid configuration management & automation experience using Ansible
- Competent in scripting (Bash, Python)
- Experience with Git or other SCM systems
- 7-10+ years in IT, 4+ specifically related to x86 virtualization
- Results oriented and excellent debugging skills
- To comply with U.S. federal government requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications :
- Familiarity with deploying and maintaining a FedRAMP compliant environment
- Familiarity with vRealize Suite (Orchestrator, Operations Manager, Automation)
- Familiarity with Puppet & Foreman
- Experience with Netapp and EMC storage systems
- Experience integrating with public cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure)
- Experience in implementing and managing bare metal lifecycle management systems
