1. Provides coordinated instructor and supervisor relevant to the course curriculum through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, individualized training plans, and other methods.
- 2. Ensures that instruction is congruent with the TARs for the courses and that trainees receive adequate knowledge and experience regarding instruments and equipment of the trade;
- hospital and medical office procedures and organization; patient care; specific skills relevant to the Health Occupations cluster studied;
professional ethics and standards; and use and understanding of relevant terminology.
- 3. Examples of specific skills relevant to the Medical Assistant cluster are a. Performing general medical office procedures;
- b. identifying anatomy, physiology and clinical procedures; c. Performing clinical office procedures; d. Performing general laboratory procedures;
e. Following emergency procedures; and f. additional skills required for certification.
4. Studies and demonstrates through performance a working knowledge of course objectives training guides, activity guides, TARs and safety standards.
5. Maintains up-to-date records (attendance forms, TARs, etc.) on each trainee enrolled in the course.
6. Establishes a positive, functional rapport with trainees.
7. Records and forwards daily attendance reports to the records department in a timely manner.
8. Participates in staff meetings, training seminars, and other meetings as designated by the CTT Manager.
9. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.
RMA (registered medical assistant) or CMA (certified medical assistant) is preferred with two years clinical experience working within a physician office.
RNs (registered nurses), LPNs (licensed practical nurses) and individuals with graduate training in allied health may be considered to teach clinically related courses with two years of experience as a Health Occupations Instructor.
Current medical assistant registration or certification through a nationally recognized and accredited certifying agency (CMA or RMA).
If applicable in addition to the above criteria, must have a current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the Medical Assistant field.

Licenses or
Certificates :
- State Teacher’s Certificate required.
- Must have or acquire Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
