Responsibilities :

• Lead the engineering team to be directly responsible for building and maintaining tools that support and enhance the productivity of the engineering organization.
• Work closely with product and design teams to build and ship features that improve the developer experience and streamline engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to define, communicate, and execute on goals, priorities, and processes specific to engineering productivity.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead the team to ensure effective performance and career development.
• Actively participate in coding and prototyping to validate ideas, accelerate execution, and understand the codebase.

Requirements :

• 2+ years of experience managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
• 5+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient development tools.
• Degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field (BS, MS, or PhD).
• Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management skills.
• Experience with C / C++, Python, and Go, and familiarity with at least one server-side framework and one database system.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Experience building tools to support engineering work and improve developer productivity is a plus.

Pay Disclosure :

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company.

With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity.

This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range.

This estimate is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and / or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Estimated Annual Pay Range : $200,000 $350,000 USD
