BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position) :

Manage team member compensation packages using payroll software. Undertake a variety of payroll related tasks such as entering payroll information, auditing payroll information, and providing pay checks to appropriate departments.

This position will assist end users with timecard duties and work closely with Human Resources on benefit deductions and accuracy of salary changes.

The primary objective of this position is to carry out all payroll procedures with accuracy in a timely manner meeting varied deadlines.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
  • Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime.
  • Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate.
  • Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
  • Maintain all payroll records including :
  • PTO hours accrued and taken
  • New employee set-up
  • Processing of terminated employees
  • All the changes that occur from one payroll to the next.
  • Prepare salary & wages, payroll taxes, workman's compensation insurance, tips, the 401(k) billing, and the vacation accrual reports for accounting team.
  • Provide information to the Gaming Commission and Surveillance on new, transferred, and terminated employees.
  • Assist the managers and supervisors in making sure the payroll activity for their department is correct; may provide training to new staff
  • Revise account signature cards as needed.
  • Process reports for IRS form 8027-Employee's Annual Information Return of Tip Income and Allocated Tips.
  • Assist other payroll team members to support timely payroll processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience) :

  • High School graduate; some college preferred.
  • Minimum three year's payroll experience performing all aspects of the payroll function. Prefer candidates with automated payroll experience working with a payroll vendor.
  • Minimum three year's payroll processing, excel spreadsheet preparation, and MS Office experience.
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working amicably and cooperatively with all levels of the organization.
  • Professional appearance and a positive, guest service orientation is required.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies

Be available to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
