Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in general nuclear medicine, expertise in cardiac stress testing (including performing the stress testing), and proficiency in PET / CT imaging.
This role involves diagnosing and treating diseases utilizing radioactive materials and techniques, while ensuring patient safety and delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases using radioactive materials and techniques.
- Monitor radionuclide preparation, administration, and disposition.
- Document procedures, consultations, and healthcare decisions in the medical record.
- Communicate emergent findings to treating physicians / services promptly.
- Supervise medication administration (including contrast agents) by technologists and nurses.
- Develop and adhere to standard procedures and protocols.
- Maintain, direct, and encourage radiation and MRI safety practices.
- Protect patient privacy and confidentiality; ensure accurate CPT coding.
- Obtain informed consent and complete pre-procedure notes in the electronic medical record (CPRS).
- Enter pathology requests for obtained specimens.
- Address abnormal coagulation and eGFR in every pre-procedure note.
- Ensure timely and accurate medical record documentation in CPRS.
- Enter medication orders in CPRS when administered during the procedure.
- Perform medication reconciliation when medications are changed, started, or stopped.
RequirementsQualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Nuclear Medicine in accordance with ACR standards.
- Current Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ABEM certification (American Board of Emergency Medicine).
- Current Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Active professional license in any US state.
- Proven experience in general nuclear medicine, cardiac stress testing (including performing the stress testing), and PET / CT imaging.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
Work Hours
- Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM.
- No on-call requirements.
- Flexibility to provide weekend clinics as needed.
