About The Position
Job Title : Medical Laboratory Technician Job Specialty : Medical Laboratory Technician Job Duration : 13-week assignment Shift : 3, 12-hour shifts / week, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience License : Professional Licensure (MLS, MT, CLS) required prior to start date;
provisional license is acceptable Certifications : Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, AAB, AMT, and NCA. Certification required within 12 months of start date.
Must-Have : - ND License required before starting (provisional license is acceptable).- Official transcript and / or diploma on file for CLIA Requirements.
Job Description : Demonstrate critical thinking skills and independent judgment in laboratory settings.- Understand and apply scientific principles and technical elements of laboratory testing and result interpretation.
- Perform and interpret waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; conduct routine phlebotomy for patients of all age groups.
- Interpret quality control values, troubleshoot and resolve QC failures, and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, document maintenance and repair activities, and recognize the need for major repair or replacement.
- Organize and prioritize workload to maximize productivity, ensuring completion according to established guidelines.- Communicate effectively with necessary individuals and provide on-site consultation to resolve technical problems.
- Collect blood specimens and ensure specimen integrity through accurate patient identification, labeling, collection, and transport.
- Troubleshoot procedural and technical problems, execute corrective actions, and notify appropriate authorities in a timely manner.
- Document problems, actions taken, and remain accessible for consultation.- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.
This opportunity does not require holiday coverage, and knowledge of the bilingual language is not required.
