EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Manager Satellite Terminal Hardware Design in our Hughes Network Systems division to work in our Ground Segment Group within hardware engineering.
The position is located in our Germantown, Maryland office.At Hughes, we are developing some of the largest and most powerful satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems in the world.
We are looking for engineering professionals to help us achieve our vision of providing broadband connectivity everywhere.
Your role is to bring best-in-class user terminal solutions to our high-throughput ground networks.Responsibilities : Manage the technical development and project management for the development and delivery of advanced user terminal solutions for satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systemsLead and direct a multi-functional engineering team to develop and integrate hardware, software, and network technology to satisfy customer requirements and deliverablesEstablish objectives, specifications, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and contingency plans to ensure projects are executed effectivelyOversee all aspects of the development over the entire project life (concept, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, and delivery)Coordinate across multiple corporate functions including business, operations, and manufacturingPerform the function of technical customer interfaceEnsure the timely and cost effective accomplishment of contractual commitmentsBasic Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering10+ years of experience with a background in hardware development of satellite and terrestrial IP-based user terminal architectures and systems5+ years leading cross functional engineering teams in design and development projects with external customer deliverablesPreferred Qualifications : Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer EngineeringKnowledge of systems to include : baseband, RF, antenna, and electronic packaging technologiesProject management experience highly desired with formal training or equivalent (PMP) trainingWill be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.#H#LI-EM1
