EchoStar has an excitingopportunity for a Cleared Systems Administrator in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will belocated at our headquarters in Germantown,MD.
Responsibilities :
- Patchvulnerabilities on multiple devices and operating systems (OS)(servers, workstations, firewalls) on established periodicitycoordinated with security staff, engineering, andoperations.
- Upgrade applications of existingcommon software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader,etc.
- Experience with ACAS (AssuredCompliance Assessment Solution) and STIG (Security TechnicalImplementation Guide) compliance remediation or experience withequivalent security requirements andtools.
- Contribute to documentationfor security plans leading to an Authority to Operate(ATO)
- Sample documentation : Security ControlTraceability Matrix (SRTM), System Security Plans (SSP), RiskAssessment Reports (RAR), Contingency Plans, Media Control Plans,Incident Response Plans, and related documents supporting systemaudits andreviews.
- ProvideContinuous Monitoring (ConMon) and respond to assigned Plan OfAction and Milestone (POA&M) tasks working with the InformationSystems security Officer (ISSO).
- Participate insystem testing and tabletop exercises.
- Monitorsystems for anomalous activity (after-hours use, attemptedprivileged command execution, data exfiltration, etc.) and performappropriate incident response.
- ConfigurationManagement : document system details regarding OS, configurations,connections, software, and hardwareinstalled.
- Support peripherals such as printersand scanners.
BasicRequirements :
- BS Degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, related field; orcombination of education andexperience
- Must hold and maintain aU.S. government Top Secret securityclearance
- 5+ years of experiencewith the Risk Management Framework (RMF), National IndustrialSecurity Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), or Joint Special AccessProgram (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)
- Level1 IAT ( A+, CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+, CE, OR SSCP)
PreferredQualifications :
- Experiencein system reporting tools such as Cherwell, ServiceNow,JIRA / Confluence. Familiar with technical and administrativesecurity policies.
- Experienced in DoD / Federalsecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance(GRC).
- Experienced with NISTregulations.
- Experience with security toolsthroughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including asexamples : Tenable / Nessus, Splunk, vCenter / VMWare, Anti-virusprotection (McAfee / Trellix), Windows OS (Workstation and Server),Linux (RHEL OS) and related tools for Defense inDepth
- Experience working in a customer centricenvironment.
- Evaluate vendor products andrecommend hardware and software purchases, coordinatinginstallation and ensuring effective backup and recoverystrategies
