Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solution Manager (IT Sustainability) in our Enterprise Systems and Solutions (ESS) team focusing in the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) area located at our Midland, MI or Houston, TX hub.
The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.
About you and this role
As a Senior Solution Manager within the ESS Organization, you will drive the successful delivery of digital and sustainability projects that directly align to Dow’s Digital Growth and Sustainability Strategy.
Within these high-performing digital projects, you will be challenged with designing solutions as well as ensuring project teams work as a cohesive unit to deliver customer satisfaction at the speed of business.
You will utilize your knowledge and expertise to be an integral part of multiple projects, architectural designs, and foundational standards that allow the ESS Organization to bring value to Dow through exciting digital innovation and sustainability solutions.
Specific areas of focus for this role in our Sustainability and EHS&S area over the coming 3-5 years include :
- Delivering tools and solutions to meet Dow’s Sustainability & Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments, targets, and goals
- Assist in leading the Next Generation Enterprise Systems (NGES) assessments, technical design, and remediation, including S4 HANA
Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis uses specialized depth and breadth of expertise in job discipline to explore, analyze, and map business and function requirements
- Experience Mapping - interprets internal and external business challenges and applies learnings to map user journeys, user experience (UX), and user stories (user features) to facilitate employee experience (EX) / customer experience (CX) transformation
- IT Solution / Application / System drives the full solution lifecycle, including functional / technical design (solution architecture, buy vs make decisions), integration of third-party off-the-shelf software, develops / integrates / tests / builds solutions with the ability to operate in both waterfall and agile environment, and ensures compliance to corporate standards, architecture guidelines, and information security policies
- Support independently selects and defines supplier and team support models
- End-to-End Integration coordinates with other Business Process Managers and Service / Solutions Managers for end-to-end process optimization and integration
- Assists with workload analysis for team to ensure proper resource alignment for capacity planning
- Conducts business studies and alternative analysis / decisions
- Ensures owned IT Service (portfolio of solutions) adhere to ITIL Practices, including but not limited to : evaluating / managing IT Dow information risks to ensure Dow’s safety and security;
- drives Event, Incident and Problem Management efforts; maintains service configuration, asset, and knowledge management;
maintains Service Levels
- Understands the client value and end-to-end costs of your service
- Accountable for the accurate representation of the data within your service
- Takes feedback received on their IT Service / portfolio of solutions and discusses with business process owner to ensure feedback is taken into consideration as continuous improvements
- Works with suppliers to influence enhancements / changes
- Accountable to follow ITIL framework to deliver value for users of the service
- Ensures project led solution delivery meets Dow's architecture standards and position
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, 12 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship / support is available for this position, including for any type of U.
S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred Skills
- An advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline
- Hands on knowledge or ability with technology implementation
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment
- SAP functionality design and implementation experience
- Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
