Oregon State Correctional Institution

This position is a job rotation anticipated to last 6 months, though may be extended or decreased due to business need. This rotation available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Correctional Enterprises, or Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision with their current manger's approval.

About the Job Your Role

As our Medical Services Manager you will work cooperatively with stakeholders throughout the department to meet the medical needs of our adults in custody.

You will coordinate teams of professionals, verify our serves are clinically appropriate and consistent with community health care standards, and provide information to administration.

The person in this position will need to create strong working relationships throughout the institution and the division, exercise judgement, and provide leadership to the OSCI Health Services staff.

This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.

Four years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Note : Possession of an unencumbered Registered Nurses License from the Oregon State Board of Nursing at the time of appointment.

Special Qualifications

License to practice in Oregon as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.

Three years supervisory and / or teaching experience in an independent practice setting, and prior nursing experience.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of individuals ranging from health care professionals to lay persons.

Requirements for Employment

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
