Quarters is a newly opened retail and hospitality concept in Tribeca, New York from the founders of design brand In Common With.
The concept includes a wine bar, daytime cafe, event space, and gallery and in 2025, it will expand to include an upstairs private dining room.
While not their personal home, the founders treat it like it is, and that's how they want everyone to feel when visiting.
It aims to combine the comfort of a private residence with the energy of a hospitality space.
Quarters is seeking a highly motivated Line Cook.
The Line Cook will play a crucial role in preparing dishes to the exacting standards set by the Head Chef. You will be self-motivated, proactive in completing tasks, and open to all duties to keep the culinary operations organized and running smoothly.
You will be responsible for ensuring all ingredients and final products are fresh and delicious, following recipes accurately, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workstation in adherence to DOH guidelines.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and carry out food preparation tasks (e.g. cleaning and cutting ingredients), and bar / event service (e.g. cooking main dishes, appetizers, and snacks), all within the Quarters standards and guidelines
- Familiarize yourself with all recipes, production methods, and specs. & allergen sheets to ensure consistency of prep and final product.
- Exemplify proficiency at following recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
- Support Chef / Management however necessary
- Act respectfully to all other team members. BOH & FOH. (It is of the utmost importance for this to be taken seriously no matter what the role of the other members is.)
- Assist in inventory management, receiving orders, and stocking inventory appropriately.
- Adhere / upkeep DOH food safety and sanitation rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen / work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes.
- Assist with the upkeep of washing daytime dishes and containers efficiently.
- Equipment; properly utilize, wash, and store when task is complete / end of shift
- Dispose of waste and recyclables responsibly
- Assist in the deep cleaning schedule of kitchen facilities.
- Set up the kitchen daily by following prep guidelines and daily checklists.
- Work efficiently within a par system to meet operational needs.
- Prepare stations with all necessary supplies and mise en place.
- Store mise-en place and raw ingredients according to company standards. Ensuring everything is fresh while utilizing FIFO to maintain freshness and limit food waste
- Fill out waste logs and ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable items.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding inventory, prep needs, raw product requirements, and service needs.
- In cooperation with other staff, cook, present, garnish, and arrange final dishes to spec. / Quarters standards.
- Work with FOH staff to ensure orders are completed according to request and on time.
Qualifications / Skills

- Culinary diploma or equivalent experience.
- Food handling NYC certification
- Team-oriented and maintains a positive attitude.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance with Department of Health standards, and possess a food handler's license.
- At least two years of cooking experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team, collaborate on dishes / prep work, & assist in directing kitchen porter
- Effective at maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, including but not limited to knowledge of safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept as well as temperatures at which food must be heated / cooled to avoid foodborne illness
- Proficient in vegetable, meat, stock, & sauce preparation.
- Strong ability to follow instructions and comprehension to accurately execute recipes
- Basic customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a level-headed approach in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
- Versatility in day-to-day requirements due to diversity in events / services.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Studio + Compensation
- This is a full-time / part-time position based in Tribeca, New York
- Hours of Operation :
- Pastries & Coffee : Tuesday-Saturday, 11 am-4 pm
- Aperitivo Thursday-Saturday, 4 pm-5 pm
- Bar Room : Thursday-Saturday, 5 pm-1 am
- Special Events (Tuesday-Saturday pre-booked, minimum 30 days in)
