Job Description
Dailyactivities would include purchasing products, maintaininginventoryand partneringwith advertising. Implement and learn strategies that deliveron keyfinancial metrics suchassales, grossmargin, and inventory turnover.
AJunior Buyerwill be responsibleforaspecificproduct or linewithin their assignedBuyersareaof responsibility.Limiteddirectpurchasing responsibilitybydollarvolume ofnomorethan 50%ofa Buyer’s positionornomore than$10Mwhicheverishigher.
This position provides an opportunity for learning and future growth within the Purchasing Department.

Education : Bachelor’sor2-4 yeardegreepreferred
Experience : 1-3 years related experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform fulfillment duties ofAssociateBuyer forperspectivecategoryat a high level ofcompetency.
- Financials
- Manage thecategory tocreatethebiggest impactongrossmarginthroughleveragingofsales, inventory,andfinancialstrategies.
- Monitorandcorrect pricingonproducts.
- Leada salesdrivenculture within thestores.
- Merchandise
- Utilize LineReviews to managetheproductlinewith agoal ofcreatingacustomerdriven assortmentbydrivingcostout,creatingstrategicplanograms,andeliminatingproduct redundancy.
- Workcrossfunctionally throughout theorganization tofacilitatesales drivenproductlayouts, location,andmerchandisingimprovements.
- Manage theinventoryturnoverofthecategory with afocusoneliminatingoverstocks, redundancy,and tocreate betterflowfrom thewarehouse.
- Monitorcompetitorsforsimilaritemsandprices.
- Managespecial orders, transfersandshippingerrorswithin thecategory.
- Analyze trend reportswith thegoal ofbetterunderstandingproductsales.Thismayresult in thedevelopmentofanaction planincreasesales orimprove inventoryproductivity.
- Vendors
- Stayabreast ofindustry trends byattending tradeshows.
- Activelysearchfornewsuppliers, to createacompetitive vendorcultureandenhancevalueproposition.
- Cultivateand maintain arelationship withthevendorin order toreviewnewmerchandise and maintain currentsupplywithinareaof responsibility.
- Negotiatefinancial incentivesand pricingwith the vendorthatare beneficial toTheisen’s.
- Invitecurrent and potentialvendorstoparticipate in LineReviewsforareaofresponsibility.
- Negotiate vendorproductlifts / buybacks.
- Stores
- Tourstorestoassessissueswithsales,inventoryturnover,andplanograms.
- Maintain arelationship with thestorestodetermine productopportunitieswithin thecategoryline.
- Followuponstorerequestsandquestionswith asense ofurgency.
- Actonproduct requests fromstores.
- Ad Preparation
- Developa marketingstrategiesfor thecategoryofbusiness.
- Analyze theoutcomeof previouslyadvertiseditemsto assessimpact.
- Determinepromotional prices on theproduct.
- Ensurethat inventory levelsarewithin theacceptablelevelsforthelengthofthead.
- Clearlycommunicatewith advertisingat everystep in theadpreparationprocess.
- Proofreading adsforaccuracy.
- Continuallyanalyze thead’seffectiveness and inventorymovementduring theadrun.
- Otherduties asrequested bymanagement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be performed inside a climate-controlled office facility. The noise level is low to medium and typical of an office environment.
Potential hazards include electrical hazards. Atmospheric conditions are typical of an office environment and may include exposure to odors and dust.

Hours of Operation :
Corporate Office (Core Hours) - 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM, Mon-Fri.
Distribution Center - 6 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM (1st Shift) and 3 : 30 PM - 2 : 00 AM (2nd Shift).
Store Locations - Vary by location, but can range from 8 : 00 AM-8 : 00 PM Mon-Sat and 9 : 00 AM-6 : 00 PM Sun.
