A Pediatric Rheumatologist at our Peoria campus will be part of a large pediatric group providing ambulatory and inpatient care to pediatric patients with rheumatologic illnesses.

There are opportunities to partner with the adult Rheumatologist at OSF Saint Francis Hospital and build collaborative partnerships with other children’s hospitals in Illinois.

The department is committed to supporting research and educational needs of the successful candidate.Position SummaryPediatric Rheumatologist to provide ambulatory and inpatient care to pediatric patients with rheumatologic illnesses at the Children's Hospital of Illinois.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide acute and ongoing consultative care to children that have rheumatologic illnesses in both the hospital and outpatient settings.

Participate in education and training programs for medical students and residents and fellows in the Department of PediatricsParticipate in Collaborative research activities of the Division of Rheumatology and departmentPerform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and student counseling.

Children’s Hospital of Illinois provides comprehensive services to children, including Level IV NICU and a state-designated Pediatric Critical Care Center.

Children’s Hospital of Illinois is a major medical facility with 136 beds and a 32-bed critical care unit and the only Level 1 trauma center in Illinois outside of Chicago.

There are existing resources through UICOMP and Children’s Hospital of Illinois for seeding research funding, quality and outcomes focused academic work and innovation in health education.
