This role is a part of the Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the design and development of a variety of ground systems that meet Blue Origin’s needs;
to include the controller electronics, software, harness and power electronics, and instrumentation. You support your team through requirements development and decomposition, technical trade study support, risk management, systems safety, integration, verification, validation, and other systems engineering-related activities.
These responsibilities will require wide application of systems engineering principles and concepts, plus an understanding of software, controls hardware, and other related subject areas.
You will work with the Test and Flight Operations group in using technical standards and processes to enable robust, right-sized software and control systems development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Develop high-level software requirements for controller electronics
- Draft or review software design descriptions
- Support technical trade studies
- Draft or review software interface control document (SW ICD)
- Draft or review software verification descriptions, scripts, and results
- Support verification activities for software and subsystem integration
- Ensure software readiness for integrated system test
- Track anomaly reports and software change requests through implementation and resolution
- Utilize collaboration tools such as Jama, JIRA, Confluence, Windchill, and Creo
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or software engineering, including software requirements development or verification
- Experience in full software development life cycle
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.
S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industry relevant software standards (Ex. DO-178B / C DAL)
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $136,800-$191,520
