Boutique law firm based in San Jose, CA has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant! This Legal Assistant will report to the Firm Administrator and support 2-3 workers' comp defense attorneys.
As a Legal Assistant with this firm, your role will involve providing legal and administrative support to attorneys including preparing various legal documents, communicating with clients, preparing for deposition and trial, and handling various administrative tasks around the office.
This is a task-centric role that requires the ability to work independently and efficiently. This legal assistant must be able to work on-site on a hybrid or full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience working in a law firm; prior workers' compensation or personal injury experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities :
- Communicating effectively with clients and addressing their inquiries
- Template drafting pleadings and template legal documents
- Managing and organizing trial binders and exhibits
- Managing discovery processes in legal cases as needed
- Providing administrative support
- Utilizing case management software to track and manage cases
- Managing calendars and scheduling appointments and meetings
- Preparing for trials, including court filings and other documentation
