Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Our client, a growing technology company specializing in custom test and measurement systems, needs a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to complement their team.
Our Dallas-based client specializes in the design, system integration, and production of custom test and measurement systems in the aerospace, defense, radio frequency, energy, and biomedical industries.
Day to day :
- Evaluate customer requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Design electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including test circuitry and hardware system architecture.
- Prototype, design, and document designs using electrical CAD software.
- Select and evaluate test measurement hardware.
- Analyze signal integrity and design conditioning systems.
- Support the production of designed parts / systems.
- Ensure deliverables are on-time, on-budget, and meet customer quality requirements.
- Support job proposal activities, including material and labor estimations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities for tools and processes.
- Manage hardware configurations using a revision control system.
- Mentor less experienced design engineers.
Successful candidates will have :
- 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced design environment developing electrical test systems.
- Minimum four-year degree in a technical discipline; electrical engineering preferred.
- Proficient in Electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium, AutoCAD, SkyCAD, Solidworks Electrical), and Microsoft Office suite.
- Desirable : RF measurement and industrial controls knowledge, simulation software experience (Simulink, Matlab).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Desirable : Test software development experience in LabVIEW, TestStand, C / C++, Python.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility for export-controlled work (US citizen or permanent legal resident).
- Desirable : Experience with DOD, government, and aerospace contracts.
