About The Position
Job Title : Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Specialty : Interventional Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40.
00 per week Experience : No prior experience required License : ARRT certification required Certifications : Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Must-Have : Completion of an accredited Associate's Degree or an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program Job Description : Schedule patients for hospital transportation and coordinate with anesthesia, med / surg teams, inpatient chemo pharmacy, and intensive care units to minimize delays.
- Create procedural orders, confirm patient identity, and ensure correct procedural consent.- Know acceptable lab values and procedure contraindications, sharing any variances with the attending physician.
- Maintain room procedure sheet for documentation of procedures and supplies used.- Input procedural information including biopsy passes, intravascular pressure measurements, fluoroscopy time, dose measurement, sedation, and intravenous contrast used.
- Ensure proper procedural coding based on diagnostics and interventions.- Complete image manipulation and transmission to imaging systems like IMPAX from fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and IVUS units.
- Import prior CT scan data to fusion software for real-time roadmapping during aortic repair; record endovascular repair data.
- Provide high-quality multi-modality imaging support during procedures using various imaging equipment.- Demonstrate understanding of specialized imaging techniques for patients with compromised cardiothoracic output or malignancies.
- Perform portable interventional procedures requiring ultrasound equipment.- Support clinical partners such as radiologic technologists and cardiac cath specialists during intra-operative cases.
- Conduct image post-processing, quality assurance, system checks, and quality control testing.- Clean radiographic equipment and procedural suites.
- Operate digital imaging systems, ultrasound, CT scans, power injectors, and other diagnostic and interventional software.
- Notify supervisors of equipment malfunction and troubleshoot with vendor support.- Describe exams to patients, position them on procedural tables, and assist with monitoring.
- Alert physician and nursing staff to changes in patient condition, prepare patients using sterile techniques, and assist during procedures.
- Administer and document regulated pharmaceuticals and practice radiation protection.- Aid in post-procedural care, including dressing applications, and manage anatomic or foreign body specimens.
