Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at our Cedar Creek of Franklin community.
We are currently offering part-time and full-time positions.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs which enable the resident to maintain good personal hygiene, to carry out activities of daily living, to maintain good health, and to participate in the activities of the community.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) you will impact the lives of our residents by
- Assisting and providing direction to residents regarding their personal care needs, which include but are not limited to, grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition, etc.
- Answering signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents needs using a proactive approach.
- Taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
- Transporting residents or assisting residents with walking along with turning or repositioning residents alone or with assistance.
- Changing bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone.
- Assisting with laundry and housekeeping duties.
- Assisting residents to and from dining room as needed and assists with meals.
- Encouraging and assisting residents to participate in activities.
- Listening and understanding of the problems of residents and reports observations immediately to the care team as needed.
- Promoting the physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of each resident and striving to maintain the ultimate goal, which is to return the resident to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.
- Understanding the residents’ Advance Directives and following their wishes.
- Ensuring effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
- Working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand / move, communicate, and identify written information.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and / or move up to 50 pounds independently;
occasionally lift and / or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.

To become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will need
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of an accredited CNA program preferred.
- One year of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferred.
- CPR or BLS certification preferred.
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR related systems if applicable.
- Dependable and able to meet scheduling requirements with no restrictions.
- Must possess a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding senior living care, as well as a solid understanding of opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior living.
