The Senior Business Analyst holds a critical role within the business technology ecosystem for Stax processing platforms.
While this position will have a vast knowledge of the end-to-end payment lifecycle, the focus of his position will be the functionality of our proprietary Clearing platform and its incoming and outgoing transaction cycles.
While this immediate position is a sole contributor role, there will be opportunities for growth into management positions at Stax.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Analyze network certification requirements with each of the supporting brands that you represent, I.E. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
- Work as part of the agile development team and hold the UAT responsibility for the Network Requirements that you’re assigned to.
- Manage issues throughout the product development process including problem identification, root cause analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Responsible for communications between technology and operations / lines of businesses for the product you’re assigned.
- Assists Product Management to manage, track, and report platform performance throughout its transactional lifecycle.
- Guides the product development team as they execute projects in the pipeline
- Develop requirements, and user stories as the Network requirements change.
- Document current state processes and technical payment processing capabilities
- Act as one of the relationship liaisons between the Network and Stax
- Provide updates to developers and project managers in regard to project timelines, and challenge contingency plans to project risks & roadblocks.
- Will perform consulting or strategic analysis with internal and external stakeholders; therefore excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
Environment & Physical Demands :
- This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary
Requirements :
- 10+ years of experience within payments in an operational, technical, or business capacity for merchant clients.
- Experience in US Payments Clearing systems
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Project Manager, PowerPoint
- Proficient in the ability to understand multiple file specifications and associate them with raw data file review in an effort to support UAT & QA testing between the platform and the supported Networks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to develop, document, and explain technology strategy to diverse audiences.
- High level of experience in business analysis, merchant product management, or technology related to payments.
- Robust knowledge of Network requirements (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) and Clearing platform processes preferred, specifically for North America.
- Must be able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple, at times conflicting, priorities
- Ability to act as a leader / consensus builder in a matrixed organization across internal and external resources
