Summary :
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the VP of E-Commerce will directly own, optimize, and provide strategic direction to two E-commerce B2B direct sale websites, and support the optimization of several lead gen sites across the JSG portfolio.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing the company's E-commerce strategy to drive revenue growth and enhance the overall customer experience.
You will lead a dedicated team of E-commerce professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize our online sales channels and maximize profitability.
The position will manage two Directors of E-Commerce, the Web Services Data Integration Architect, the E-Commerce Analytics Manager, and the Director of E-Commerce Marketing Services to achieve revenue and demand generation goals.
This leader will also manage our Director of Marketplaces, focusing on Amazon and E-commerce-centric distributors.
This will be a data and process-oriented individual with extensive experience managing internal teams, outside consultants, and agencies.
Part analyst, strategist, and manager, the ideal candidate will have prior experience driving results through a methodical approach that relies on best practices for optimizing organic and paid user traffic, improving conversion rates, driving sales from merchandising, optimizing site search, methodically improving UX, and creating an efficient checkout process.
They will understand both the marketing and technical aspects of a high-performance site and have experience in selecting and managing the implementation of technology modules to support current and new site functionality.
They will bring analytical capabilities to isolate issues and opportunities to drive growth and track the impact of changes.
The candidate will have experience managing P&Ls, managing to both revenue and profit goals.
Responsibilities :
- Provide strong, effective, and highly visible leadership to the E-commerce team, ensuring that all resources are motivated to contribute fully to the company's vision and goals - to drive key business metrics including revenue, lifetime value, average order value, inside sales revenue, and outside sales leads.
- Guide the marketplace team in executing the strategy and driving growth, supporting content and ad management excellence, to achieve growth and profitability goals.
- Oversee the operation, optimization, and analytics of our US B2B E-commerce platforms, ensuring seamless functionality, user experience, and security.
- Manage relationships with E-commerce platform providers, technology vendors, freelancers, and third-party service providers - including contract negotiation and management as required for the proper functioning of each site.
- Coordinate with marketing and demand generation teams to populate the site with content and capture incoming sales leads.
- Provide strategic leadership for online marketing - building effective teams through hiring and training.
- Collaborate with product management, sales, and marketing teams to develop and execute online merchandising and promotional campaigns - develop merchandising plans that support sales goals and optimize online sales performance.
- Analyze E-commerce performance metrics and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for site improvement - Set a team strategy through analysis of historical marketing data and testing to measure continuous improvement.
- Incorporate the agile development process for website and campaign optimization, which will be key to rapidly improving the performance of the new platform.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in E-commerce and digital marketing.
- Manage E-commerce technology, development, IT, and advertising costs in accordance with the Sales and Marketing budget.
- Support the corporate brand guidelines and company strategic priorities across the E-commerce portfolio.
- Communicate regularly with the CMO to provide updates on E-commerce performance, initiatives, and strategic recommendations.
- Present to senior management and help the CMO achieve greater marketing success, leveraging standard dashboards for site performance against internal goals.
Requirements :
- BA / BS and 10-15 years of relevant working experience.
- Proven track record as a leader of growing an E-commerce brand.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners and business stakeholders.
- Past experience managing a P&L.
- Demonstrate knowledge in all areas it takes to be successful online, including organic and paid search, site design, SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media, customer workflow optimization, nurturing tactics, etc.
- Proven experience leveraging content to drive optimized organic search and customer engagement on-site.
- Leadership skills in driving cross-functional teams toward common goals.
- Leadership experience with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You must be analytical and able to extract meaning from data and use this to optimize a team's approach to drive revenue.
- Experience managing or working with the agile process on an E-commerce platform.
