The Cypress is recruiting for a hospitality focused full-time LPN or RN to join our team! This is a full-time 1st shift, 7a - 3p.
This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Quality-of-Life Specialists / Resident Assistants.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of an LPN or RN :
- Receive and give report at shift change for LPN / RN and CNA. Make Rounds. Report all deficiencies to the Director of Nursing.
- Count and sign off on narcotics at the beginning and the end of shift.
- Pass medications, documenting on Medication Administration Record (MAR), and notifies Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.
- Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.
- Document on residents per protocol.
- Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.
- Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.
- Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room and resident rooms. If there is a shortage, orders through central supply personnel.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have :
- Must have valid NC or compact state LPN / RN license with no substantial findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.
- Minimum of 3 months’ experience as a LPN / RN preferably with elderly care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
- Ability to observe changes in resident’s condition and act accordingly.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with employees, residents, family, visitors and volunteers.
- Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
- Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
- Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situation.
