About The Position
Job Title : Interventional Radiology Technician Job Specialty : Interventional Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days;
8 : 00AM-5 : 00PM, Monday-Friday Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 1-3 years in problem-solving, ability to set priorities, organize work, and excellent interpersonal skills License : IEMA licensed by the State of Illinois Certifications : ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology, BLS Must-Have : Basic reading, writing, and oral skills- Ability to communicate facts clearly and maintain confidentiality- Organizational skills and the ability to work well with others- Basic computer knowledge with familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers- Comfortable working within a Windows OS and learning new applications Job Description : Conduct or participate in special procedures directly with the radiologist, obtaining results used for diagnostic and interventional treatment.
- Stand-by call required.- Perform special procedures ensuring accurate and complete examinations within Medical Imaging guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Execute sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and / or Fluoroscopy under direct supervision of the radiologist.- Exhibit competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.
- Adapt from routines when patient conditions require or upon radiologist's request.- Prepare and understand the use of catheters, guidewires, and sterile trays as necessary.
- Obtain and document accurate pre-and post-procedure information as applicable.- Adhere to JCAHO patient safety goals and maintain quality care throughout procedures.
- Practice radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.- Use problem-solving approaches for patient moving and handling, promoting safety with lift equipment.
- Perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control as per medical provider orders and hospital lab procedures and policies.
