Description
- Provides health care services applying X-ray energy and / or sonic energy to assist in screening or diagnosis of breast disease.
- Performs breast imaging, assist with biopsy procedures, bone densitometry, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner.
- Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.
- Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Requirements :
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited education program in radiologic technology
- Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry
- Current Post primary Registry in Mammography (M) or eligible to obtain advanced registry within one (1) year of hire date
- Current Post primary Registry in Breast Sonography (BS) or eligible to obtain advanced registry within one (1) year of hire date or completed department training
- Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
- Current Advanced ARRT Registry Required in Breast Sonography or eligible and obtain advanced registry within one (1) year of onsite training
- Current CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Mammography experience preferred.
