Summary

The Procurement Manager position is responsible for developing procurement strategies and overseeing the purchasing of goods and services for the organization and for leading the daily operations and personnel of the Purchasing Department.

Duties include but not limited to facilitating and developing cross-functional Vendor Management process, analyzing spend data to develop negotiation opportunities, assisting in the refinement, and establishingperformance goals and KPI's to measure savings and enable continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee current supply base and develop / mature future supply base to support in International Freight Forwarding& all domestictransportation modes with its need
  • Develop and implement strategies for procuring and distributing goods or services
  • Implement changes and develop processes to better procure goods and services, cost effective procuring process, and set policies / guideline
  • Negotiation with vendors / suppliers to secure advantageous terms, finalize contract terms, budget forecast, and cost analysis
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals
  • Manage projects related to cost optimization and goals to optimize margins for volume discounts, competitive pressure for procurement activities, i.

e., prepare and analyze bids and RFP's for procurement of all goods and services

  • Ensure alignment between strategic procurement initiatives for all GUS operations team and identify areas of improvements to continually drive performance and business results
  • Review current processes for procurement and make recommendations where appropriate
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Responsible for maximizing the use of all the different tools in the ERP system to analyze trends to maintain a steady flow of the supply chain
  • Ensure compliance and policies, ethics, and goals in engagement of vendors

  • Liaise with the leadership with current supply base needs, provide initial escalation point for contractual issues with supply base
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business

Compensation Range

$101,000 - $113,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Required
  • Strong negotiation, procurement, and conflict resolution skills Required
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive actions with cross-functional groups Required
  • Proficient PC skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database management systems Required
  • Working knowledge of industry and market conditions Required
  • Experience in operations, including Freight Forwarding, domestic transportation, and bid preparation Required
  • Working knowledge of contract management practices, tracking and managing data, contracts, and timelines Required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to adjust to meet business needs Required
  • Individual must be a self-starter with ability to work with limited direction

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma / GED Required; Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • 7 - 10 Years of Experience Required
  • 8 - 13Years of Experience Preferred
  • 4Years of Supervisory Experience Required
