The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Programs and Operations System Administrator, to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, administering, and testing policy administration systems.

The Insurance Programs and Operations System Administrator will work closely with the IT team to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and that all users are trained to use the systems effectively.

As a member of our Service Delivery team, you’ll be responsible for providing coordination and oversight of underwriting administrative services for program clients.

Assure that all client Brokers, MGAs and Program Administrators, meet regulatory and operational guidelines for the provision of quality service to our policyholders.

You’ll conduct audits and due diligence reviews of our client MGAs and Program Administrators and provide regulatory guidance to assigned program accounts.

Understand the needs of risk transfer transaction through the use of insurance paper and make the appropriate decisions with minimal supervision for deploying our statutory entities in a complaint manner.

Qualifications :

Direct the new program opportunity process through all stages including but not limited to, initial fact finding, due diligence and implementation.

Evaluate and analyze prospective clients, determine start-up and ongoing policy administration costs, systems (front / back-end) in building a new program.

Conduct on-site and desk audits of MGA’s and Program Administrator's underwriting administrative services utilizing the resources of the program support and other Munich Re Specialty Insurance North America / MRAm areas.

Develop recommendations and follow-up action plans designed to improve performance. Monitor compliance to audit findings.

  • Participate in the renewal program process for assigned programs.
  • Educate MRAm SBU’s and external clients of Munich Re Specialty Insurance North America’s capabilities by analyzing, researching and providing solutions to insurance matters regarding rating, rule and form compliance.
  • Maintain complete program files for each assigned program.
  • Manage the overall relationship with the program administrator / MGA on behalf of Munich Re Specialty Insurance North America Service Delivery.
  • Influence decisions on operational issues that can impact compliance, workflow, systems or clients on the issuance of policies for assigned programs.
  • Support oversight, development, and testing of Policy Administration systems utilized by Program Administrators and MGAs.
  • Oversee and monitor all aspects of policy administration and related operational functions that are delegated to program administrators and MGA’s on behalf of Munich Re Specialty North America as assigned.
  • Assist with training junior level staff

Job Requirements :

5+ years of property / casualty insurance experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance company operations experience
  • Strong knowledge in primary and excess lines for rating and policy issuance and underwriting
  • Tech savviness and a willingness to experiment with and learn new technologies.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements and the ability to analyze and communicate the impact of regulatory changes
  • Ability to think strategically and function tactically under tight deadlines
  • Excellent consultative skills which can be deployed at any level of an organization, including creativity, emotional intelligence, adaptability and problem-solving
  • Exceptional communication skills that energize and engage clients and colleagues, and the ability to introduce and drive innovative ideas, visions and client-focused solutions.
  • Ability to explain complex transaction structures to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to travel 20%
