Harbor Chevrolet has been Loving Long Beach Since 1923. We are right around the corner from our 100th Anniversary and we are looking for the right people to join our team.

Harbor Chevrolet has one of the largest Service and Parts operations in Southern California and we are growing at a rapid pace.

We also have a giant wholesale parts operation that services dealers, body shops and customers all over SoCal. We need qualified candidates fast to help us manage this growth.

WHAT’S THE JOB / OPPORTUNITY?

Advancement, growth, training opportunity for an Entry Level Lube Technician / Tire Installer / Pre-Delivery (PDI) Technician to work and thrive in our dealership.

We are a training dealership, with a goal of training and growing our people and promoting from within. We will supply you will all the work you can handle (we have never sent someone home due to lack of work).

This is a great, foot in the door opportunity that could lead to a career (we have a lot of testimonies and examples of team members who have done just that).

Some basic working knowledge of cars, or previous applicable experience is necessary. If you don’t have automotive experience or knowledge, please see other positions we have for Porters.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

• Valid Driver’s License
• Positive Attitude
• Strong Work Ethic
• Show up on time and ready to work
• Strong understanding of the service drive
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Frequently move items weighing as much as 50 pounds
• Constantly working in outdoor conditions
• Mainly working in a standing position

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Perform quick services (oil, tires, brakes, wipers, battery, PDI, etc) on vehicles with speed, accuracy, and purpose.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
